William H. McKay, age 70, of Merrillville, IN, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at home. Preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Theresa McKay; and twin brother, James “Birdman” McKay who passed away in April 2009. William is survived by his wife, Elaine McKay; daughter, Karen McKay; 2 sons, Kevin and Keith McKay all of Merrillville; 2 grandchildren, Haley and Michael. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 10:00 AM, at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway in Merrillville. Burial will be at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Friends may visit with the family, Tuesday, June 16, 2009 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Geisen Funeral Home, in Merrillville. Mr. McKay was retired from U.S. Steel. He retired from the Merrillville Volunteer Fire Department after 40 years and was a Merrillville EMT. Bill served in the U.S. Army.
