William “Bill” “Poppa” Novosel, Sr.

WILLIAM B. “BILL” “POPPA” NOVOSEL, Sr, age 82 of Dyer, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.

Bill is survived by his three children: Holly (Patrick) Meyers, Denise Grimmer, William (Jackie) Novosel, Jr. and Scott (Jodie) Eggert – who was like a son.  He was Poppa to his six grandchildren: Patrick, Brandon (Grace) & Jori Ana Meyers, Hallie (fiancé Jordan Hawker) Grimmer, Billy & Marissa Novosel.  Bill is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife Carole; parents John & Antoinette; and his siblings.

Bill was a graduate of Chicago Vocational High School and was a retired insulator from Local #17 in Chicago.  Poppa’s biggest life enjoyments were his grandchildren and fishing.

While it would have been Bill’s wishes to have a formal visitation and funeral Mass for all of his family and friends, a private Mass was held for his immediate family and he was laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
