WALTER N. SVETANOFF age 89 of Merrillville passed away Saturday March 31 2007. Survived by son Wayne W. (Marilynn) Svetanoff of Highland daughter Kathy (George) Steele of Minnesota 3 grandchildren: Wendy Jo Svetanoff Alison & Erica Steele brother Gerald N. (Linda) Svetanoff of Crown Point nieces & nephews: Cheryl (late Paul) Dehaven of Merrillville Michael (Paula) Rukavina of Valparaiso Joseph (Cathy) Svetanoff of Crown Point grand-nephew Jack (Crystal) Dehaven of Merrillville grand-nieces Michelle (Michael) Goyer of Carmel IN & Melissa (John) Warriner of Carmel IN. Preceded in death by his wife Rose M. who passed away on February 6 2007 his parents Naum & Kasimira Svetanoff and his sisters: Wanda (late George) Stevens and Rose (late Michael) Rukavina. Mr. Svetanoff was the owner of the Walter Svetanoff Insurance Real Estate & Accounting Firm located in Glen Park for 45 years. A member and past president of the Merrillville Rotary Club he twice received the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow Award for outstanding service. Walter was a World War II Army veteran and member of the American Legion Post #207. A graduate of Lew Wallace High School Class of 1936 he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Northwestern University. Walter attended services at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with his wife Rose. Friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service 6360 Broadway Merrillville on Wednesday from 2-8 P.M. with a Legion Service at 4:00 P.M.
