Walter Lavrinovich, age 90, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

Walter is survived by his children: Lee Anne (Blair) Timmerman, Robert Lavrinovich, Ann Marie (Curt) Carpenter, William (Ana) Lavrinovich, and Walter (Darlene) Lavrinovich Jr.; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters: Arlene Hickory and Joan (Ronald) Eskstrom.

Walter was preceded in death by his first wife, Audrey Lavrinovich (nee Michard); and his second wife, Beth Hein Lavrinovich (nee Waters).

Walter was a retired autoworker, spending his career at Ford Motor Company’s Hegewisch plant in Chicago. He instilled in his children the importance of hard work and respect for others. He loved reading, watching his favorite sports teams, the Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox, and walking his dog, Pickles! Though he preferred to let others talk, he had a wicked dry sense of humor. His family did a lot of laughing over the years, often in the back of a station wagon while on our annual summer vacation adventures. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, family and friend.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Deacon Brian Nosbusch.

Interment to follow at City of Crown Point Historic Maplewood Cemetery.
