VIRGINIA M. LOCKENVITZ (nee Loving), age 92 of Niles, IL and formerly of South Haven, IN, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021.
She is survived by her sister Bernice Kibler; brother Herman (Sybil) Loving; two nephews: Brian (Karole) Loving and Lance Loving; great-nephew Nicholas (Jen) Loving; two great-nieces: Amanda (Travis) Dunlap and Saoirse Loving; great-great nieces & nephews: Hannah Loving, Colson Loving, Hailey Loving, Brenna Kate Dunlap and Kiera Dunlap. Preceded in death by husband Edward Lockenvitz and parents Winfred & Alta Loving.
Mrs. Lockenvitz was an active and faithful member of the Portage 1st United Methodist Church. She was born and raised in Robinson, IL and was a graduate of Robinson High School. She and her husband Edward moved to South Haven many years ago and she worked as a purchaser at Gordon’s Department Store in Gary for several years.
A Celebration on Virginia’s Life will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. from Portage 1st United Methodist Church (2637 McCool Road, Portage). There will be gathering time ½ hour prior to the service at the church. She was laid to rest next to her husband at Willowhill Mound Cemetery in Robinson, IL on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 12:30 P.M.
