Vincent “Vince” Colombo, age 85, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

Vince is survived by his daughters: Gina Marie Colombo and Lana Louise (Jack) Kish; grandchildren: Kevin and Brandon Kish; great-grandchild: Maveric Kish; and best friend, Genzo.

Vince was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Mary Louise Colombo; grandchildren: Kelly and Bryan Kish; parents: Sam and Rose Colombo; sister, Antionette (Toni) Jovanovic; brother, Sam Colombo; daughter-in-law, Gail Beloff; and best friend, Tootsie.

Vince was a member and usher at St. Mary Catholic Church for over 20 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a Grand Knight. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Vince was a Grocery Store Manager for many years and worked for John Hancock Insurance for 8 years. After retirement, he worked for the City of Crown Point as a School Crossing Guard at South and Lake streets for many years. Vince also enjoyed traveling with his family.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Prayers will be held at the Funeral Home at 9:15 AM on Monday, February 12, 2024. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 101 W. Burrell Dr., Crown Point, IN 46307, with Fr. Kevin Huber officiating.

Interment to follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Crown Point, IN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Vince’s name to St. Mary Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

I was so sorry to hear about Vince. I always loved seeing him on Saturday night at church. He was such a gentleman. I worked with Mary at the BMV and the two of them were awesome. I'm so glad I got to have them cross in my life. My condolences to the family.

I’m so sorry to hear this. Mr. Colombo was definitely one of the good ones! He was fun, but strict and always made sure Lana and I were living our best lives in high school. I have always thought very highly of him. Sending love to the whole family.

Hi Gina and Lana I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. As you know, he was a very special man and truly the nicest man I've ever met. He was always so cheerful and positive and I am sure those traits were passed on to you all as it was infectious. He always had time to talk and was truly interested in what you had to say and always asked how I was doing and how my family was. Although he has gone to be with your mom, he touched alot of people and I know I was certainly one of them. I sure could use some of your mom's spaghetti right now, it was the best! I bet she has a plate waiting for your Dad. Love you guys and hope you are able to celebrate his time here as we all know he's in a better place and that's what we have to be happy about. Girls, hope you remember me…your parents former neighbor. I’m so sorry to read about your dad’s passing, I would pass him while he was working at Lake and South Streets. We would always wave, He and your mom are up in heaven now visiting with my folks, catching up on old times. Both your parents were such lovely people and will be missed by all who were lucky enough who knew them. God bless them. So sorry for your loss.

Lana-So sorry for the loss of your Dad, your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I met Vince a couple of years ago. We were part of a coffee group that met at Wendy's. I enjoyed knowing him. I enjoyed talking to him. He was a nice guy. I will miss him.

Cousin Vince, you will be missed greatly. You were an amazing man. There are so many family memories that we shared over the years. Those great memories will live on forever. You will have quite a reunion. Give them all a hug for me. May you RIP. Love, Cathy
