Victor Lodovisi

VICTOR A. LODOVISI age 73 of Palm Desert California and formerly of Crown Point passed away March 21 2009. He was born September 25 1935 to Victor and Gilda Lodovisi in Gary IN. Victor was a graduate of Emerson High School Class of 1953 earned a B.S. from Wabash College and received his doctorate in Dental Science from Loyola University Chicago in 1961. He was an Air Force Veteran who opened his practice in Gary later moving to Merrillville then Crown Point and eventually retiring to California in 2004. He was a member of Indio Sunrise Rotary International and recently received The Golden Legion Award from the California chapter of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He remained active in his career after his retirement and was currently employed at Hernandez Dental in Indio California and at Desert Willow Golf Club of Palm Desert. Throughout his life he was respected by his associates and colleagues. Survivors: Wife Joan of 50 years son: Jerome (Katherine) Lodovisi of Crown Point daughter: Jennifer (Richard) Evanseck of Noblesville In grandchildren: Erica (Krystofer) Drogoszewski of Chicago Elizabeth (David) Shock of Indianapolis Jerome Lodovisi II of Noblesville IN Brittany Lodovisi of Indianapolis Caroline Lodovisi of Crown Point Megan and Lauren Evanseck of Noblesville. Preceded in death by son: Lawrence parents: Victor and Gilda Lodovisi mother-in-law Martha Gursky. Memorials preferred to Indiana University Cancer Research C/O Dr. Lawrence Einhorn Indianapolis IN.

Please accept my deepest condolences on the death of Dr. Lodovisi. He was our family dentist for years ever since he was on Broadway in Glen Park. He was a great dentist and good man. I always remember how when I was little and had to have my front teeth capped that he told me that I was the best patient because I didnt cry and was so good. To a kid that was high praise from a dentist! He will be missed but his legacy of love strength and courage will live forever.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Lodovisi Family in their loss. I was priviledged to know Vic as a family dentist since 1964 and to call him a fellow Italian amico. We had many good conversations about Italian food wine and cooking. I missed him when he retired but wished him the best in his well-earned rest. I know how much he enjoyed golfing! Dear Joan and family Even though we have spoken recently I wanted to add a few things about Vic. He was my friend. After being with him I always had a smile on my face for it.
