VERONICA “RONNIE” SCOTT, age 78 of Portage, passed away, Thursday, June 27, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John; son: Terry Scott of Portage; granddaughter: Mary (Larry) West of GA; sisters: Helen (late Joseph) Korhel of CA, Irene (Kirk) Rusbasan of AZ; brother: John (Virginia) Bartfai of NY; brother-in-law: Deacon Robert Bonta of Portage. Preceded in death by daughter, Sandy Scott; parents: Sophie and John Bartfai; two brothers George and Andrew Bartfai; two sisters Ann Barlas and Mary Bonta Mrs. Scott was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church and was a member and past President of Altar and Rosary Sodality. Veronica was the co-sponsor of the Nativity Church Festival. She was a retired Deputy Assessor from the Portage Twp. Assessors Office and a member of Assessors Association. Veronica was a graduate of Emerson High School. Andrew Corona officiating. There will be one half-hour of visitation at church prior to services. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.
