John and Lynn Turner left a message on May 2, 2010:
Vera was John's aunt. John is the son of her older sister, Anne. John met Vera as a small boy but really didn't know her well other than stories that he heard about her from his mother as he grew up. We met Vera at her home in Michigan City for a short visit eight years ago while on a roadtrip from Colorado to eastern Canada. She was such a beautiful, gracious, and interesting lady. We enjoyed an evening of dinner and sharing many family memories with her. We are saddened at her passing but know that she had a very full and wonderful life.
Carol Turner left a message on May 1, 2010:
Dear Aunt Vera, I wish I could be there to pay my respects. Even though you and I never met (except when I was a baby), I remember how much my mother loved you (her little sister) and I remember all the beautiful presents you sent us every year when we were children. I'll be thinking of you. Your niece, Carol
Gay Glasscott left a message on April 30, 2010:
I have very fond memories of Vera, Jim, Duffy and Sinbad. I grew up next door to them in Duneland Beach. The Dwyers, Glasscotts, Gliddens and Mathias families were neighbors, but oh, so much more through the years. Vera was such a kind, interesting and talented woman. I always had deep respect for her and loved being invited over to their house when I was a child and teenager. My own two daughters benefitted from her wonderful sewing and knitting skills...she always sent beautiful handmade items for their birthdays. Vera was certainly a part of my life and I always tried to see her whever I came back to Michigan City. We would share a glass of wine and share memories. I will miss her. Gay Glasscott
