TRINITY “Triny” VARELA (nee Camarena), age 85 of Merrillville, formerly of Gary, went home to meet her heavenly Father on Sunday, June 3, 2018. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jose L. Varela; sons: Michael J. Varela, Louis (Francesca) Varela, Paul Varela; daughter, Elizabeth Varela; grandchildren: Nicole (Jacob) Varela Zatorski, Austin Ragan, Alyssa, and Aaron Varela; great-grandson, Connor Varela-Carlson; sisters: Emily (Ralph) Duenas, Helen (Lou) Martinez; former daughter-in-laws: Joy Varela, Erica Ragan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Triny is also survived by her “fur baby,” Maggie.

Triny was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Manuel and Cirila Camarena, Sr.; her son, Richard Varela; and brother, Manuel (Ernestina) Camarena, Jr.

Triny was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Bishop Noll High School, Class of 1954, and a former employee of ANCO.

Family and friends may call at Pruzin & Little Funeral Service, 811 E. Franciscan Dr. (south of St. Rd. 231 on St. Rd. 55), Crown Point on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 10:00 am DIRECTLY from Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, 8303 Taft St., Merrillville with Rev. Peter Muha officiating. There will be one half-hour of visitation at church prior to Mass. She will be laid to rest in Historic Maplewood Cemetery, Crown Point.
