Tonnie J. Tucker

Tonnie J. Tucker, age 54, of Michigan City, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009 at St. Anthony Memorial Health Care, Michigan City. A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place. She was born December 15, 1954 in Niles, MI to James W. and Alberta M. (Haack) Taylor. Her father preceded her in death, her mother survives in Michigan City. On May 14, 1988 in New Hope, NC she married Tandy Brent Tucker, he survives in Michigan City. Also surviving is her son Chavis Covington of Thomasville, NC, grandchildren Brian Covington, Logan Ramp and Jasmine Covington, brothers James (Caryl) Taylor of LaPorte, Dennis (Martha) Stites and Nevada (Joyce) Stites, both of South Bend, Danny (Lois) Ohms of Roscoe, IL; sister Mercedes (Melvin) Cole of Niles, MI, and loyal companion Snoot. She had been employed with Klausner’s Furniture Ind. of Ashboro, NC as an office manager. She was a loving and devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother and friend. Memorial contributions may be made to the John Wayne Cancer Foundation.
