Tommy Brown, 79, of LaPorte, IN, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at home, following a brief illness. He was a native of Cumberland, KY and a retired steel worker at U.S. Steel.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank Brown and Elsie Marie (Kitts) Brown; wife: Anna Darlene Brown; children: Robert Brown, Tabitha Roebuck, and David Brown; great-grandchildren: Havana and Stormi Brewer; brothers: Bobby Brown, Freddy Brown, Danny Brown, and Jerry Brown; sisters: Joan Cooper, Rhonda Halcomb, and Shirley Allen.

He is survived by son: Thomas (Salena) Brown; brother: Gary Brown; sisters: Connie (Ronnie) Chasteen, and Dana Brown; grandchildren: Alicia Brewer, Miranda (Alex) Mahaffey, Jack Brown, Kayla (Kyeth) Washington, Misty Griffin, Tessa (Gil) Campos, Benea (Robert) Coursel, Luke Brown, Dustin Searing, and Robin Roebuck; 13 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, 6:00 PM, at the American Legion Post #83, 228 E Lincolnway, LaPorte, IN 46350.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, 613 Washington St., Michigan City, IN 46360

Love you Uncle Tom. You were a great man. From sleeping over at your house with you Aunt Darlene, and david... watching preditor on your huge TV at the time to the most recent when my daughter's got to know the same loving man. When they were young they knew your name but chose to call you the candy man..lol Always had a pocket full of treats for them. Then they got older and you were the guy to call to get the best movies that everyone wanted to watch. Just a slight admiration I can talk about in this quick comment. You were much more and could type all night on the fulfillment and joy you brought to this world. Love you uncle Tom. Will see you and all of the other family and friends that have left this place at some point and feel the place of happiness and paradise that your at right now. Till then enjoy heaven sir.
