Theodore Lasayko

Theodore “Ted” Lasayko, age 85, of Hebron, IN, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at VNA Hospice in Valparaiso, IN. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary; daughter, Louise Robert Cox of GA; sons, Dave Kathy Lasayko of Portage, Larry Stephanie Lasayko of Valpariaiso; 4 grandchildren Kathleen Adam Wheeler of GA, Alan Shannon Cox of CO, Matt Lasayko of Portage, Matt Sigler of CA; 4 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, William Lasayko; mother, & step-father, Elizabeth & Michael Karasick and sister, LaVern Grennis. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 14, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 805 South County Line Rd, Hebron IN with Rev. Richard Boshoven and Pastor Robert Breitbarth officiating. Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Visitation will be held at the Geisen Funeral Home 624 N. Main St., Hebron on Sunday, September 13, 2009 from 2:00 to 7:00 PM with an American Legion service at 4:00 PM and Monday from 10:00-11:00 AM directly at the church. Mr. Lasayko was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church in Hebron. Theodore was a World War II Army Veteran and was a member of the Merrillville American Legion Post 207 and the VFW Hebron/DeMotte. He retired from US Steel with 41 years of service as a Power Fuel Supervisor and served on the Board of Directors of Pro Finance Federal Credit Union. Ted loved to do wood working and play dart ball. He was also known for feeding the birds and the neighborhood dogs. Memorials may be given to VNA Hospice in Valparaiso, IN or to St. Michael Lutheran Church.
