TASIA KOVECK, age 80 of Portage, passed away Monday, June 1, 2015. Survived by her husband of 60 years, William; three sons: David (Ann), William B. (Pamela), Michael (Vikki); seven grandchildren: Brett, Stephen, Robert, Alec, Adrianna, Carson, and Calista; brother, Tom (Jeanette “Sug”) Katsimpalis. Preceded in death by two brothers: Harry and Sam Katsimpalis. Tasia was a member of Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church, Merrillville and Ladies Sodality. She was a graduate of Froebel High School, Class of 1952, and was retired from St. Mary Medical Center and did demos at Town & Country Grocery Store in Portage. She was also a nurse’s aid for Gary School System. Tasia enjoyed being with her family and friends. Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville on Sunday, June 7, 2015 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a Panahida service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2015 DIRECTLY from Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church, 8600 Grand Blvd., Merrillville, with Rev. John Russin officiating. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Memorials preferred to Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church.
