Sylvester A. “Butch” Markiewicz, age 71, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024.

Butch is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sharyl Markiewicz; 2 children: Katherine (Eric) Markiewicz and Elizabeth Markiewicz; grandson, Graham Hallow; siblings: Veronica (Rich) Jakubiak, AnnMarie Lewandowski, Paul (Cherie) Markiewicz, Jim (Charlene) Markiewicz, Dave (Cheryl) Markiewicz, Diana (Mike) Vetterick, Patty (Frank) Fugate and Andy (Susan) Markiewicz; and many cousins and friends.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents: Aloysius and Victoria Markiewicz.

Butch retired in 2019 from YRC, Inc. after 30 years of service as a mechanic. He was kind, patient, hardworking and dedicated. He was a big White Sox fan and loved to be outside, work in the yard and play sudoku. Butch was a loving husband and devoted dad and grandpa who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
