STEFANIJA “BABA STEFIE” PERETIN, age 102 of Merrillville, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016.
She is survived by her son Charles (late Theresa) Peretin; her grandchildren: Charlie (Karen) Peretin and Annie (Joe) Dixon; great-grandchildren: Shane & Jacob Dixon, Andrew & Dominic Peretin; niece Millie (late Joe) Peretin; great nieces & great-nephews: Joe (Susie) Peretin, Tony (Lisa) Peretin, Mary (John) Horvat. Preceded in death by husband George Peretin.
Mrs. Peretin was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. She was a very devout Catholic and very active in her parish. She was also a 64 year member of the Croatian Fraternal Union #170. Mrs. Peretin was an avid gardener, and at the age of 102, she still managed to put in her garden this year with flowers and vegetable. She cherished her family, especially her four great-grandsons.
Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service (6360 Broadway, Merrillville) on Sunday from 2:00-7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 5:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 9:00 A.M. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 9:30 A.M. from St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church (445 W. 45th Ave., Gary) with Rev. Stephen Loncar officiating. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery.
