STANLEY IKEKUJAWSKI age 90 of Crown Point formerly of Mattoon IL passed away Thursday May 3 2012. Survived by wife Sally (nee Soltysiak) of 70 years 4 children: Margie (Jerry) Trigg of IL Maureen (Glenn) Russell of IL Marcy (Alan Creech) Kujawski of IL Marty (Beth) Kujawski of CA and 9 grandchildren. Preceded in death by son Mark Kujawski and daughter Mary Kujawski-Roberts. Mr. Kujawski was a retired soldier from the U.S. Army with 25 years of service. Ike served during World War II the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He then became a R.O.T.C. Instructor at Mattoon High School in Mattoon IL with 20 years of service. Funeral services will be held Monday May 7 2012 at 11:00 A.M. DIRECTLY from St. Anthony Home Chapel (203 Franciscan Dr. Crown Point) with Rev. Joseph Vamos officiating. There will be visitation at the chapel one hour prior to services. At rest Holy Cross Cemetery Calumet City IL. Arrangements by Pruzin & Little Funeral Service of Crown Point. Sergeant Kujawski was a dear man well respected and thought of. I met him thru the R.O.T.C. Before I entered into the military he asked me what branch I told him the Marine corp because none of my relatives been there. He said that is a tough group but he was glad I was willing to gear up to it. This was the last time I had seen him. I always wondered where he went. He was #1 Thanks Sgt !

I was deeply troubled by the recent death of this great man. He was a man by which most other men pale in comparison. Early in his life he began to shoulder the troubles of his nation. Later in his life he assumed the mantle of advisor educator counselor and friend. He mentored those who were wise enough to ask for his guidence and he faithfully served his family and his God. While my deepest sympathies go out to his family I hope that in time the pain will lessen and then they can all reflect on what a true treasure that they had walking amongst them.

My sincere sympathies to your entire family at this time of sorrow. Sarge made a huge impact in my life as an ROTC cadet at Mattoon High School. He was an honorable man and a true patriot. We still exchanged Christmas cards until recent years. He will be deeply missed.

I had the pleasure of learning from this man from 1967 to 1970. He was indeed a great mentor. I have often thought of him over the years. I pray his family finds peace in this time of sorrow.

I was sad to learn of the passing of a great man Stanley Kujawski. Of all the instructors I ever interacted with throughout my schooling in Mattoon Illinois no one had a greater influence on my life as did Sarge. I had the privilege of learning from him throughout the four years I attended the JROTC program at Mattoon High School. I can honestly say that I am the person I am today because of him. He will be truly missed by all those who knew him. Rest in peace Sarge.
