Stanley “Stash” A. Pete, age 80, of Hebron, IN, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2009 at home. He is survived by two sons: William Carla Pete of Hebron, James Pete of Las Vegas; daughters: Judith Pete of Alaska, Patricia Passaro of Valparaiso, Nancy Joseph Gonzalez of Hobart, daughter-in-law: Judith Pete of Highland; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grand daughter. brother: Eugene Kathleen Pete of Hebron and sister: Eleanor Grabek of Merrillville. Preceded in death by his wife: Shirley J. Pete and son Robert Pete. Funeral Prayers will be said on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 9:30 AM at Geisen Funeral Home, Hebron, IN followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Helen Catholic Church, Hebron with Fr. Derrick Dudash officiating. Interment at Hebron Cemetery in Hebron, IN. Visitation will be held at the Geisen Funeral Home, 624 N. Main, Hebron, IN on Monday, June 1, 2009 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 5:00 PM. Mr. Pete was an active member of St. Helen Catholic Church where he was best known as “as the fish fryer”. He was active in all boards in the Town of Hebron, especially the Park Board. He was retired from American Bridge where he served as President of the Salary Union and was known as the Drawing Room Troubleshooter. Stanley was proud of his detail work on the following projects: John Hancock Building, Houston Superdome, Chicago Skyway, Sears Tower, Touch Down Jesus at Notre Dame, McCormick Place, Standard Oil, Disney World, O'Hare Airport, Genesis Center, St. Louis Arch, Purdue Stadium and IU's Assembly Hall. Even though retired he remained very active and passionate about his detail projects. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events.
