SHARON K. GRELECKI (nee King), age 67 of Crown Point, Indiana, passed to eternal life through the grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. Sharon was born to parents, Earl F. and Mildred L. King in Terre Haute, IN.

She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Charles S. Grelecki; daughter, Carolyn L. Martin; son, Daniel C. (Sarah) Grelecki; grandchildren, Augustus Martin, Stella Grelecki, Lily Grelecki, and the late Jack Grelecki; brothers: Thomas F. (Betty) King, James B. King, sister, Linda L. (late Richard) Smith; brother-in-law, Steve Grelecki; sister-in-law, Cindy Grelecki.

Sharon was a dedicated Christian and member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and School, Crown Point. She was active in its many ministries, and was a long-time volunteer at the Crown of Life Chapel, Wittenberg Village. Sharon graduated from Wiley High School, Terre Haute, and Indiana State University with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught in the schools of Arizona, Michigan, and for 18 years, in Crown Point, Indiana. Sharon was a loving and compassionate servant of God, a wife, mother, homemaker and teacher, touching many lives. She shall be sorely missed until God’s appointed time of our reunion with her in His heavenly kingdom.

Family and friends may call at Pruzin & Little Funeral Service, 811 E. Franciscan Dr., Crown Point (south of St. Rd. 231 on St. Rd. 55) on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be 10:00 am. Saturday, June 10, 2017 DIRECTLY from Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 250 S. Indiana Ave., Crown Point with Rev. Cory Wielert and Rev. Lothar Thoelke officiating. At rest Maplewood Memorial Cemetery. There will be one half-hour of visitation at church prior to service. In lieu of flowers, gifts are requested in Sharon’s memory to: Crown of Life Chapel, Wittenberg Village, 1200 E. Luther Dr., Crown Point, IN 46307.

Mrs. Grelecki was my 2nd grade teacher and quite possibly one of the most influential people of my childhood. I will never forget her or the way she made me feel. She was gentle, she was intelligent and her faith beamed so brightly, her spirit lit up the room! I remember how proud of me she was the day I showed her I could spell the word dinosaur. She was so patient, kind and caring. I know I’m a little late in saying this but I am so very sorry for your loss. This woman was truly one of a kind, and her loving spirit will linger in the hearts of those she left such a huge impact on forever! God bless you all, and to Sharon, thank you for believing in me!! I went from spelling dinosaur to fighting Covid on the front lines as a RN! And it’s because people like this amazing woman took the time to believe in me! She will never be forgotten and she will always be loved by so many!!

Chuck, My deepest condolences for the loss of Sharon. It's been a very long time since I last saw her, but I find it hard to believe she's gone at such a young age. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family. "Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her."

Chuck I can't imagine what you are going through. Gail and I will keep you and your family members in our thoughts and prayers. We will also pray that Sharon's soul passes through the gates of Heaven soon so that she can keep an eye on you. I look forward to seeing you soon in Michigan.

Dear Chuck and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. We were so blessed to share and grow In our faith together through our small group Bible studies. We wish you peace in the days to come and beautiful memories of her beautiful life always.

I extend my deepest sympathy to you on the passing of Sharon. I got to know her through math workshops I conducted for MacArthur Elementary School. It was my great pleasure to have had the opportunity to know her. Her positive spirit and joyful nature was contagious. She will be greatly missed.

She taught my children and grandchild at Mac Arthur. Very kind and sweet teacher. The family should be proud of her legacy. My deepest sympathy at this time.
