Sarah O'Lee Wedlake

Sarah O’Lee Wedlake, age 86, of Michigan City, died Wednesday, March 3 at St. Anthony Memorial, Michigan City. The service will be held Saturday, March 6 at 1:00 p.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Geckler officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery, Newport, IN. Mrs. Wedlake was born September 7, 1923 in Cayuga, IN to Dan and Ruth (Fable) Bartley, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 19, 1956 in Detroit, she married Jack Wedlake, he survives in Michigan City. Also surviving is her son Gary (Kathy) Wedlake of Huntington, IN, and grandson Richard Wedlake. She was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Sue Wedlake, and her brother Creed Bartley. Mrs. Wedlake had worked at Gateway for 8 years. She regularly attended Dunes Baptist Church. She volunteered for the Dialysis Center in Michigan City for 10 years. She was an avid gardener. She loved square dancing and spending time with her family and friends.
