Sandra Smith (nee Barnack), age 67, of Portage, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years Thomas Smith; four children Jennifer (Mike) Extin, Cheryl (Bruce Harris Jr.) Stephens, Kevin (Angie) Smith, and Aaron Barnack; ten grandchildren; two brothers David (Rolande) Barnack and Doug (Chris) Barnack; and many nieces and nephews. Sandra is preceeded in death by two children Greg Smith and Karin Smith and brother Dennis Barnack.

Sandra was a proud employee of McDonald’s in Merrillville for over 20 years. She was a loving wife who loved spending time with her family. She cherished her children and grandchildren and never missed any of their events.

Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service (2700 Willowcreek Rd, Portage) for a memorial visitation on Thursday April 19, 2018 from 3:00-7:00 PM. Memorial service will take place at Pruzin Brothers Chapel on Thursday April 19, 2018 at 7:00 PM with Deacon Dennis Guernsey officiating.

So sorry to read about the loss of someone so dear to all of you. But God's word the Bible does give us hope of seeing our dead loved ones again. Jesus said at John V chapter verses 28 and 29 that the dead will live again, please read this account in your copy of the Bible.

My life will be forever changed with you now gone. However, I am eternally grateful that I was one of the lucky ones to be able to call you Mom! Everything that I hold near & dear to my heart was made possible by you. Til we meet again, R.I.P. Mom.
