SANDRA L. GLAGOLA (nee Rilea), age 70 of Portage; formerly of Merrillville, passed away peacefully at her home with her family surrounding her on Saturday, May 30, 2015. She is survived by her four children: George H. Glagola, Elizabeth Glagola, Rebecca (Michael) Bilyak, Joanna Glagola; five grandchildren: Jonathan (Bri) Reinhard, Cheyenne Glagola, Christina, Andrew, & Rachel Bilyak; three sisters: Sharon (Bill) Horn, Delores (Les) Gartner, Peggy (Donald) Hall; three brothers: Mike (Debi) Rilea, Clyde (Linda) Rilea, Gerald Rilea; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband George; sisters Tamara Rilea and Elsie Reiter; parents Irene & Walt Hanson. Sandra was a faithful member of Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church and a retired custodian from John Wood Elementary School in Merrillville. She was an avid Bingo player, loved to fish, bake goodies for her family and church, and doting upon her grandchildren. Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service (6360 Broadway, Merrillville) on Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 P.M. with a Panahida service at 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. DIRECTLY from Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church (8600 Grand Blvd., Merrillville) with Rev. John Russin officiating. There will be visitation at the church a half hour prior to services. At rest St. Mary’s Orthodox Cemetery in Gary.
