Ruth E. Wooton, age 77, of Michigan City, died Sunday, December 27, 2009 at St. Anthony Memorial Health Care, Michigan City. Services will be held Monday, January 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 3628 W. Johnson Rd., LaPorte. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home, and from 10 a.m. until the service Monday at the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City. Mrs. Wooton was born May 10, 1932 in Michigan City to Harry D. and Mabel H. (Haughey) Kinsey, both of whom preceded her in death. On November 2, 1963, she married John K. Wooton in Michigan City who passed away on June 28, 1997. She is survived by her sisters Charlotte Sands, El Paso, TX, Florence (Leroy) Goetz, Michigan City, and Susan Pearson, Ashtabula, OH. Also surviving are nieces and nephews Jennifer (James) Colborn, Ventura, CA, Stephen (Barbara) Sands, Anthony, NM, Louise (Nino) Pecoraro and Deborah (Thomas) Teets, both of LaPorte, Susan (John) Whitaker, Indianapolis, David Goetz, Boulder, CO, Janice (Gary) Nuspl, Valparaiso, Rita (Don, Jr.) Hertzberg, LaPorte, Dr. Robert Pearson, Ashtabula, OH, Cheryl (Dr. Loren) Van Deusen, Columbus, OH, Ronald Pearson, NJ, Sharon (Felipe) Rios, Missouri City, TX, Sandra (Thomas) Cipares, Susan (Charles) Swistek, both of Michigan City, and Daniel (Rhonda) Kinsey, Vail, AZ; sisters-in-law Joan Kinsey and Emma Jean Kinsey of Michigan City, several great nieces and nephews, and her favorite little lap dog Molly. She was preceded in death by her brothers Frank Kinsey and Harry Kinsey, and nephew Darrell Kinsey. Mrs. Wooton had been a clerk/typist with Joy Manufacturing, Tonn and Blank, and Bethlehem Steel. She enjoyed knitting, singing, cooking, going out with friends, and walking her dog. She was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, VFW #2536 Auxiliary, MC Community Chorus, and Michigan City Senior Center.
