Roy Almira, age 61, of Demotte, IN, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
Roy is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Jean Almira; children: Reizel (Alex) Harting, Rojelly (Eric) Sullivan, Rejean (DJ) Dabbs, Rhenz Almira, Rhea Almira, and Ryan Almira; grandchildren: Adam and Carter Harting and Lila Sullivan; brothers: Ramonet, Rene, Ronnie, and Roel; and sisters: Rowena, Rossini, and Redette.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents: Ramon and Leonor Almira; and sister, Ruth.
As a nurse for over 30 years, Roy has dedicated his life to serving others. Roy was a fun loving, hardworking family man who lived to make his wife, kids, and grandchildren smile everyday. Whether it was working around the house, the yard, and fixing cars, his passion and determination was admired by many.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 3:00 PM until the Funeral Service at 5:00 PM with Deacon Joe VanSchepen officiating.

I was so saddenned to hear of Roy's passing. He wa my 95 year old dad's home health care nurse for almost 2 years. Roy was patient gentle and very kind and professional. He talked about his family. He took very good care of dad and developed a nice relationship with my father.

The news of Roy’s passing came to us as a big shock.
Roy was a warm and kind soul who has helped many of our distressed batchmates and our NOHS Class 79 alumni association as a whole. We are so grateful of his love, generosity and compassion.
Roy is now finally home with our Maker. I am sure he was given a grand welcome in God’s kingdom.
Please accept our deepest condolences. We pray that our Lord blesses and comforts the Almira family at this time of grief. We will be offering masses for Roy’s eternal repose. 🙏
