Ronald Magro, age 83 of Crown Point, Indiana passed away June 13, 2022. He was born in 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to Frank and Anna Magro. He is survived by his brother, James (Helen) Magro; daughters: Julie (Tom) Lanham, Susan (Jason) Maupin and Lisa (Keith) Stevens. He was the proud grandfather to Ken Lanham, Kathleen (Aaron) Patterson, Corinne Maupin and Justin Maupin; great-grandfather to Andrew and Alden Patterson; uncle to Donna (Greg) Miller and James (Melanie) Magro and dear friend to Paulette.

Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army, followed by 32 years of service on the Chicago Police Department, Fourth District. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Chicago Lodge #7 and the Cesare Battisti Lodge #27 in Schererville, Indiana. He was an avid sports fan and tried to never miss a Cubs, Bears, Bulls or Blackhawks game. When he wasn’t supporting the Chicago sports teams, he could be found on a casino boat trying his luck at the slots. Nothing made Ron happier than being surrounded by his family. While there is sadness that he has left the earth, there is peace in knowing that he is at rest.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, June 18, 2022 DIRECTLY at St. Matthias Catholic Church., 101 W. Burrell Dr. Crown Point, IN 46307, from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. with Fr. James Wozniak officiating.

Interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Calumet City, IL.
