Ronald J. Bordui, age 85, of Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Sharon Bordui (nee Howe); children: Scott (Janet) Bordui, Jason M. (Penny) Bordui; grandchildren: Savanna (Bret) Gray, Hayley Bordui, Conrad H. Bordui, Brinna M. Bordui; and brother, David (Joyce) Bordui.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents: Julius and Genevieve Bordui (nee Fregetto); and brother, Allen P. Bordui.
Ronald was born on May, 15, 1938 in Detroit, MI to Julius and Genevieve Bordui. He later moved to Chicago, IL after honeymooning there with his wife, Sharon. They fell in love with Chicago and have resided there since 1992. Ronald and Sharon were married on February 4, 1961.
Ronald started his career working as a programmer and accountant for General Motors from 1961-1967. He worked at GM full time while earning his MBA in Economics & Finance at University of Detroit in 1965. Before retiring, Ronald worked as the Chief Financial Officer for American Osteopathic Association from 1985-1994, and as Chief Executive Officer for American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons from 1994-1996.
Ronald loved playing bridge with Sharon, and they both were excellent players earning Masters Points. He enjoyed playing board games and various card games with his friends and family. Ronald was multi-faceted and was an amazing musician, artist, and author. He played the clarinet and was a band member in high school. Ronald loved gardening and creating beautiful flower arrangements on his balcony. Ronald wrote a book to capture his life and memories inspired by Bob Greene’s “To Our Children’s Children”. His favorite times were experiencing great dining with family and friends. Ronald loved spending time with his family especially his 4 precious grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 11:30 AM until the time of Memorial Service at 1:00 PM with Fr. Pat Kalich officiating.
