Roberta Simko nee Vernich, age 71, of Cedar Lake, IN, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2009 at Progressive Hospital in Merrillville, IN. She is survived by 1 daughter, Renee Greg Brown of Lowell, IN, 1 son, Ron Fiancee Jill Straley Simko of Cedar Lake, IN, grandchildren, Jonathan, Kristine and Tracy Brown and Scott Deluca, mother, Sophia Vernich of Crown Point, IN, and 1 sister, Donna Joe Bruno of Crown Point, IN. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Simko and her father, John Vernich. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 12 Noon at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN. Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 2 hours prior to services at Geisen Funeral Home, Merrillville, IN. Mrs. Simko worked for nine years at NIPSCO.
