ROBERT W. POLOMCHAK, age 79 of Portage, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann of 44 years; nieces: Joanne (Richard) Svetanoff, Julie Zloza, Marlene Zloza, Stephanie Bradsky, Sue (Dwight) Simon, Carie (Adam) Roorda; nephew: Nick (Shirley) Lash and their son, Christopher; dear friends Jan and Michael Petyo; and many other friends. Preceded in death by parents John & Anna Polomchak; brother Richard Polomchak; and his uncle Mike Yacko.
Mr. Polomchak was a member of Descent of the Holy Ghost Orthodox Church and a former member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. He was a graduate of Horace Mann High School and served his country in the U.S. Army. Robert was a loving husband, beloved uncle, and great friend to many. He was also an inventor and one the kindest men in the world. He will be deeply missed.
Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service (2700 Willowcreek, Portage) on Tuesday from 3:00-7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 5:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. DIRECTLY from Descent of the Holy Ghost Orthodox Church (750 W. 61st Ave., Merrillville) with Fr. Alin Munteanu and Fr. Sergii Aleksee concelebrating. There will be visitation at the church one hour prior to services. At rest Ridgelawn Cemetery.
