Robert “Bob” Shebel, age 94, of Trail Creek, IN passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 10, 2020 at his home. He was born June 8, 1926 in Michigan City, IN to Michael and Helen Shebel who preceded him in death.
Bob is survived by his loving wife: Lou Ann of 46 years; children: Kari Kendricks of LaPorte, IN, Kathleen Shebel of Denver, CO and Barbara Rogers of Michigan City, IN; grandchildren: Marcus, Marisa, Stephanie, Natalie, and Wesley (Stacey) and great-grandchildren: Melania, Raelynn, Cayden and Shyann. Bob was also preceded in death by brothers: Edward, William, George, and Michael Shebel and son-in-law: Greg Rogers.
Bob proudly served his country in WWII serving in the 84th Division of the US Army. He was the owner of Robert Shebel Construction and an avid White Sox fan. He loved traveling with his family, enjoying good meals and good times. Bob loved to bowl and was an accomplished dancer in his younger years. He took great pride in caring for his home and yard.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2021 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, located at 613 Washington St. Michigan City, IN 46360 and also on Monday, February 15, 2021 from 10 AM to time of service at 11 AM.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Reshan of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Those in attendance will be required to wear face masks and practice social distancing in accordance with Covid-19 mandates. A maximum of 50 people will be allowed to gather at a time.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 818 Franklin St., Michigan City, IN 46360.
