Robert Kubsch, age 80, of Michigan City, died Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Arbors of Michigan City. Services will be held Friday, April 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home, Visitation will be Thursday, April 2 from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with memorial service by VFW Post #2536 and American Legion Post #451 at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City, with full military rites by VFW Post #2536 and American Legion Skwiat Post #451. Mr. Kubsch was born March 20, 1929 in Michigan City to Heinie and Gracie (Hartwick) Kubsch, both of whom preceded him in death. On July 13, 1974 in Michigan City, he married Mildred Wooten, she survives in Michigan City. Also surviving is a son Charles Covington of Westville, IN, a daughter Mary Ann (Frank) Griffith of Marvell, AR, grandson Brian Griffith of Marvell, AR, brother Neil (Kathy) Kubsch of Trail Creek, and nephews and nieces Doug Kubsch and Corrin Melneck. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shara Griffith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had been employed with Arno Tape for 30 years, and then Filter Specialists for 8 years, until his retirement. He was an avid Cubs fan and an active member of the VFW Post #2536, American Legion Skwiat Post #451 and F.O.P. #75. He enjoyed socializing and going out to dinner with his wife.
