October 6, 1986 - April 26, 2010

Robert Couter, age 23, of Michigan City, died Monday, April 26 at 12:20 p.m. at St. Anthony Memorial, Michigan City. The service will be held Saturday, May 1 at 12:00 noon at Faith City Assembly of God, with Pastor Bill Barnes officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at the church. He was born October 6, 1986 in Michigan City to Richard and Dana (Craig) Mullenhour, they survive in LaPorte. Also surviving are his brothers Robert (Jamie) Mullenhour of Michigan City, Richard Mullenhour of Monroe, WI, maternal grandfather Franklin D. Craig of Michigan City and paternal grandmother Ruth Mullenhour of Ft. Wayne, nieces Lillian Couter of Michigan City and Noelle Mullenhour of Elkhart and many friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Norene Craig, and brother Christopher Couter. He was a 2006 Michigan City High School graduate. Robert was devoted to his church. He was involved at Faith City Assembly of God and was active in the basics ministry, food pantry, the “tech team”, drama team, children’s ministry, and college ministry. He also volunteered for most any task for his church and family. He was active in local music circles. He also had a passion for fishing and camping. He was a loyal and loving friend to all he knew. A special thank you to Pastor Robbie (Beth) Britton and Pastor Bill Barnes. Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith City Assembly of God in the memory of Robert Couter.

When I first starting working for the Michigan City School System, Robert became part of my life. I had him in several classes, as I was a paraprofessional. We cooked together, made bridges and I even got him a flag and bell for his vision cart he used. He always said Hi to me when I'd see him at his job. He is one student that touched my heart making me understand why I do the job I do for the kids. He will be missed by all that he knew. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

Robert was one of the most caring and thoughtful individuals that I ever met. He was so devoted to the kids from the youth group and attended every event or party that he could to support them and spend quality time with them. He was an amazing guy and will be missed terribly. My prayers are with everyone that knew him.

The day I met Robbie. I remember the first day of my 6th grade. I was sitting on the bus by myself and Robbie was the only person that talked to me everyday. Anytime anybody was having a bad day, Robbie would try his best to make their day better. He was always smiling no matter what. One time I was going through a rough time and he told me that God would help me get through it. Then we became best friends. He will be missed dearly but we will see him again one day.

Robert, You are a man of God, no doubt about it. God used you in such a special way. Thank you for being obedient through it all. I will never forget you and can't wait to see you in eternity with the Lord. I'm sad that I can't be there to say goodbye but know that my heart goes out to you and I miss you already. What life you lead!! I have no doubt that Jesus is well pleased and for that I rejoice! Love you brother. Until we meet again.

Robert, I didn't know you very long, but I could tell right away that you were a very special person. You were the most unselfish,genuine and kind person I have ever known. I know you struggled all of you life with many obstacles,but I never saw you let them get you down. You were so in love with Jesus and such a living testimony to all who knew you. I know you were looking forward to being able to share your testimony when God brought you through all of this, however, God had other plans and now you can see Jesus face to face and clearly. Forerunner had one of it's best nights ever last night praising and worshiping as you would have(fun and full of life)You always kept your eyes on Jesus and now you're home!!!!!
