Richard T. Batson, age 75, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

Richard is survived by his children: Stacey Ojeda of Hobart, Janet King of Portage, Debi (Larry) Gifford of DeMotte, Keith Nagy of Crown Point, and Kyle (Theresa) Nagy of Nevada; grandchildren: Jayden Ojeda, Brendon and Tristan King, Larry and Paige Gifford, Lauren, Kyle, and Ryan Nagy, Zoie, Riley, Baleigh, and Kaleb Nagy; sisters: Belinda Kornaus and Sandi Borders; and special friend, Pam Wilson.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas and Mary Ann Batson; and wife, Laura Brook.

Richard graduated from Bishop Noll High School, Class of 1966. He was a U.S. Navy Seabee who served two tours in Vietnam. Richard was a union electrician and retired from IBEW Local 697. He was a member of the VFW American Legion and Shriners Organization. Richard was an avid horse shoe player, golfer, pool player, bowler, motorcycle rider, and most of all, he loved cats.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM with a Time of Sharing at 3:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Richard’s name to Hobart Humane Society or the Independent Cat Society of Westville, IN.
