RICHARD “RICK” VODE, age 74 of Merrillville, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.
He is survived by his brother Jim (Linda) Vode, sister Nancy (Chuck) Reed; nephews: Michael Vode, David (Andrea) Vode; great-niece Paige; great-nephew Cooper; and his aunt Nellie Sopczak. Preceded in death by parents Michael & Mary Vode.
Rick was a graduate of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Grade School and Lew Wallace High School, Class of 1961. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and a retired steel worker from the Sintering Plant at U.S. Steel with 30 years of service.
Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service (6360 Broadway, Merrillville) on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 2:00-5:00 P.M. Funeral services will take place at 5:00 P.M. from the Pruzin Brothers Chapel with Rev. Paul Quanz officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home and a private burial will take place at Calumet Park Cemetery.
