Ramona Jean Smead nee Childers age 79 of Dunnellon, Florida formerly of Crown Point, IN passed away on Friday, February 6, 2009 at Monroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Florida. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William Children: Sandra Knoesel Dr.Robert Kamps of Newark, Ohio Teri Tom Wright of LaPorte, IN Kathy Jim Piper of Hudson, Ohio Steve Shawn Smead of Crown Point Grandchildren: Kori and Drew Knoesel Tom and Tina Wright Lauren, Morgan and Teghan Piper Steven and Logan Smead Great Granddaughters: Alana and Kaylee One Sister: Cleone Nash of Wenatchee, Washington Sister-in-law: Eleanor Childers of Highland, IN Many Nieces and Nephews Preceded in death by her Parents: Cyril and Eleanor Childers Four Sisters, Three Brothers and One Grandson Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre NOTE: NEW LOCATION at 606 E. 113th Ave. Crown Point 2 Blocks East of Broadway with Pastor Mark Wilkins officiating. Interment will be at City of Crown Point Historic Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, Crown Point on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Mrs. Smead was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Crown Point. She was the Secretary/Treasurer at Winfield Elementary School, where she retired from. Jean was a member of the Delta Chi Sigma Sorority in Crown Point. After her retirement, Jean and Bill moved to Donellon, Florida. They were active members of the Rainbow Springs Golf and Country Club. Memorials may be given to the Jean Smead Memorial Fund at First United Methodist Church, 352 S. I met Jean at the golf course and enjoyed playing the game with her. She outplayed me many a time as well. We ladies at Rainbow Springs have missed her presence among us and are sorry to hear of her passing.
