Ralph R. “Old Man” Lipke, age 73, of Merrillville, IN, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022.

Ralph is survived by his daughter, Jackie Lipke; granddaughter, Kiara Lipke; two sisters: Jeanette (late Martin) McDonagh and Barbara Lipke; niece, Lisa (Yolanda) Rice; nephew, Christopher Rice; great-nephew, Matthew Rice and many good friends.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents: Fred and Marie Lipke.

Ralph was a graduate of St. Benedict High School in Chicago, Class of 1967 and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. After being honorably discharged, he began his trucking life. Ralph worked for Clark Brothers for 5 years, for R & L Carriers for over 20 years and lastly for Jewel Osco in Crown Point. He was a very dedicated and hard worker. Ralph enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping and motorcycles.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Geisen-Pruzin Funeral & Cremation Services, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville, IN 46410, from 2:00 PM until time of Funeral Service at 5:00 PM with Rev. Doug Klukken officiating.

It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday. It’s hard to forget someone who gave you so much to remember. I will remember and cherish our phone conversations, poker games, when we got together the stories that you would tell everyone and you had everyone laughing. I'm glad the last time we all got together we did those 2 shots, after everyone left we sat outside and talked for awhile before you left. Last time we talked on the phone our conversation lasted 5hrs. We will miss you and will never forget you and will cherish the memories. Ralph was a great gift from God.

My condolences to Ralph’s family and friends. I met Ralph, at one of his cookouts, at his house. We became friends for over 16+ years. He loved how we would joke around, talk and he had a sweet smile. For the past few years, I would send him a slice of cake for his birthday, and that always brought a smile to his face. Then he would say: Gotta love me! I will treasure our fond friendship always! RIP Ralph- Going to miss you with all of heart!

My condolences to Ralph’s family and friends I met Ralph over 16 yrs. ago, when we both worked fo RnL Carriers. He would come to my area, we would talk, have coffee and joke around. All in all Ralph was a good Friend & a awesome Buddy. I am sure going to miss him, but he is leaving me fond treasure memories of our friendship. RIP Ralph- your 1 of a kind!
