PHYLLIS J. BARANKIEWICZ (nee LARSON) age 77 of Merrillville passed away June 29 2008 at VNA Hospice in Valparaiso. She is survived by three children: Dana Polomchak of Valparaiso Dr. Daniel (Dorothy) Femiak of Crown Point Darla Tiernan of Valparaiso six grandchildren: Adam Polomchak Lauren Nuzzo Andrew Polomchak Megan Tiernan (fiance Paul Cherpko) Daniel Femiak Katelyn Tiernan one great grandchild: Brogan Cherpko sisters: Betty Izynski (late Joe) of Valparaiso Sylvia (Jack) Graham of Valparaiso Bess (Ted) Megremis of Bloomington brothers: Ray (Deloris) Larson of Hobart Ralph (Lonnie) Larson of Lake Station. Preceded in death by parents Raymond and Loretta Larson son David Femiak. Phyllis was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Schererville. She was a retired medical transcriber at Southlake Methodist Hospital Merrillville. Phyllis performed professionally as a vocalist with the Mickey Isley Band. After retirement she wrote childrens books and was able to register two books with the Library of Congress: Youre My Little Girl and Baby Blue.
