She also has many Styck cousins and was very blessed to have an incredible relationship with Adam’s boys, AJ and Stephen Craig; along with a million friends from all stages of her life.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents: Adam and Elsie Styck, sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and James (Mic) Johnson; and niece, Rosalyn Rush.
Oh the adventures of Peggy… To know her was to love her kindness, compassion, patience and sense of humor. She worked for LCAR of Lake County for many years helping those learn life skills. She was the receptionist for Orthodontist Affiliates and then went on to work at Innsbrook Country Club until retirement. Peggy loved to play golf and was on the women’s league at Youche Country Club and South Shore where she made life-long friendships. Peggy loved to play bridge with her lady friends while chatting about raising kids and telling dirty jokes. She loved working puzzles, word searches, reading and painting.
Peggy and Dan spent a lot of good times traveling with friends for motorcycle and NASCAR races. We also were fortunate to travel to Myrtle Beach to visit family every year. Their favorite pastime has always been boating on their pontoon; Peg O’ My Heart from the Cedar Lake Yacht Club where Dan has been a member for 50 years. They also spent many good times at Tobes and other places around the lake.
Peggy lived a true Christian Servant life, sharing her love and talents as members Psi Iota Xi (remember the fair stand at the Lake County Fair), the American Legion Post 261, the Cedar Lake Yacht Club and beloved First United Methodist Church. Everyone has always said she is an amazing, beautiful, one-of-a-kind lady. When she would walk into a room with that smile you knew you were in for a good time or a good listener, whichever you needed. All of her random acts of kindness, cleverness and crafty skills touched so many lives. She was always giving and most of all she was always grateful. Peggy never met a stranger, you would become instant friends. Peggy loved to go on road trips. She and Meredith have driven many miles, always taking one way going and one way coming home (you see more of the world that way). She loved to sit and visit while drinking Miller Lite and her favorite dessert is ANY kind of ice cream. We aren’t here for a long time, we are here for a good time. Peggy loved to sing and says if you sing you better dance too. Peggy always believed “Life is for the living” so in Peggy style please live your life giving kindness and joy.
