PEARL “ANNIE” RUTH KREGEL, age 91 entered in to eternal rest on Friday, May 30, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years: Roger Kregel in 2005; brothers and sisters: Helen (Harry) Boring, John (Ellen) Ludwig, Madeline (Delmas) Funk, Fred (Irene) Funk, Margaret (Leon) Lee, Frances (Selma) Ludwig, Sylvester (Betty) Ludwig, Genevieve (Joe) Lloyd, Bernice (Pat) Faux, Louis (Fran) Ludwig, twin Virgil Ludwig, and Conrad Ludwig. Annie is survived by children: Donald (Pam) Kregel, Derrill (Roberta) Kregel, and Lorraine (James) Keilman; granddaughters: Lynette (Josh) Moon, Rachael (Eric) McGee, Megan Kregel, Alyssa Kregel, and Kelly Kregel; great grandson: Huckston McGee; brother-in-law: Ronald (Betty) Kregel; sister-in-laws: Autumn and Bonnie Ludwig, and many nieces and nephews. Annie was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Crown Point. She enjoyed being outside and loved gardening. She got her wish to pass away when all the flowers were blooming and the birds were singing. Every winter she built snowmen, including a few this past year. She also was known to shovel snow by her mail box during the snow storms, and cross the busy highway by her house to get her mail to the dismay of her children. She like posing for pictures that her grandchildren posted on facebook. Also, known to her as “The Pace Maker,” she was a true character and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Family and friends may call at Pruzin & Little Funeral Service, 811 E. Franciscan Drive, Crown Point (south of St. Rd. 231 on St. Rd. 55) on Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2014 from Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 250 S. Indiana, with Rev. David Easterday officiating. There will be a ½ hour visitation directly at the church prior to services. At rest, Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrilliville. Memorials preferred to Trinity Evangelical Luthean Church.
