Patricia Kelley Fugate, age 55, of Michigan City, died Sunday, August 2, 2009 at her home in Michigan City. Services will be held Friday, August 7 at 1:00 p.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home, with visitation from 11 a.m. until the service. Patricia was born August 30, 1953, in Benton Harbor, MI to Clarence and Delores (Johnson) Burkett. Her father preceded her in death, her mother survives in Port Charlotte, FL. Also surviving is special friend Jerome Pellman, her son Bryan (Michele) Laney of LaPorte; daughters Melanie (Rob Marvel) Schoof – LaPorte; Danielle (John) Hillier of Fayetteville, AR, grandchildren Sydney, Caden, Winnie, Ian and Timmy, sister Kathy (Jim) Loven, Scranton, PA; brother Bradly (Jennifer) Demorrow of Three Oaks, MI, sister, Jennifer (Joe) Kauffman of Port Charlotte, FL, special aunt Gerry (George) Peters of New Buffalo, MI; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other loving extended family. Mrs. Fugate was a homemaker. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Patty was one-of-a-kind, to say the least. She was a very special person, and will be missed by all who knew her. I've known her since 1971....met her when she was pregnant with Bryan. What a riot!! Her sense of humor never changed, and I was so blessed to have the time I had, with her. I wish I'd spent more time with her, and had a chance to say "Good Bye".

Pat was a good friend. We sure had us some fun back in the day!! She was so open, and caring.....never turned her back on anyone. I will miss her. My heart goes out to the family, especially to the Grandbabies. Those Grandkids were her life!! They were so blessed to have her as a Grandma.

Thanks to everyone for everything! Knowing how much my mom touched everyone really means alot to us.
