Norma L. Kaeding, age 98, of L’Anse, MI, formerly of Michigan City, died Tuesday, April 14 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse, MI. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 21 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Reshan officiating. Visitation will be Monday, April 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City.

Mrs. Kaeding was born February 27, 1911 in Michigan City to August and Augusta (Niendorf) Funk, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 6, 1946 in Michigan City, she married Earl Kaeding, he passed away Oct. 11, 1970. She was preceded in death by her sister Marie Conrad.

Surviving is her daughter Gretchen Bergan of Pelie, MI, Joe Bergan, goddaughter Angela Simic and first cousin Millie Rieck.

Mrs. Kaeding had been a homemaker. She loved being a wife and mother and also was a devoted Lutheran, being involved her whole life with her church.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.

I am so happy I was able to be a prt of Normas life. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed and looked forward to spending time with her in her home. Going there always made me feel like I was at my Grandmas house! She was an extremely strong lady and had such a positive attitude! I loved listening to her talk and we always read the daily devotions together! I will always remember my time spent with Norma and Marie as cherishe! Thank you Gretchen for allowin me to be a part of their lives!
