Nick Cruz-Lopez, age 31, of Crown Point, IN, formerly of Gary, IN passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022.

Nick is survived by his wife, Danielle Cruz-Lopez (nee Alvarez); three children: Nova Cruz-Lopez, Cade Cruz-Lopez, and Dylan Olson; his father, Luis (Alicia) Cruz-Lopez; his mother, Michelle (George) Chehade; maternal grandmother, Jamette Averett; grandfather, Michael Averett; and siblings: Jesse (Jenna) Cruz-Lopez, Christiana Cruz-Lopez, Tristan Cruz-Lopez, Michael Olivarri, Alexander Guel, Cassandra (Trevor) Sturm; uncle, Michael Averett; and Nick’s many aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.

Nick was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Evelio and Theresa Cruz-Lopez; and uncle, Anthony Jansma.

Nick was a graduate of Crown Point High School, Class of 2009. Nick worked in the construction industry as a Bricklayer out of the Griffith Local. He was a nature lover of all animals and enjoyed his at home fish tanks, video gaming, and attempting to skateboard. He also loved traveling and trying out new restaurants. Nick’s main passion was his kids whom he loved dearly. Nick will be greatly missed.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 26, 2022, at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Nick’s name to his family for his children’s future education.
