I am Joan Cortopassi. I was friends with your mom back when we were both modeling. I would help Nancy find jobs at McCormick Place when some of my clients needed an extra girl to be in the booth with the salesman. I haven’t spoken to Nancy for a long time but I would regularly think about her and how her life was going. When I look at her picture I get very teary-eyed and miss her dearly. Condolences to the family. I love you all!

Nancy was an inspiration, not only for her willingness to share her gardens, her love of Fairy Gardens and her zest for life, but also her warrior spirit. She will be remembered with great fondness and will be truly missed.

Nancy was a great lady, gracious and welcoming. Happy to share her garden and experience with any who wanted too. I loved seeing her smiling face where ever I came across her in town. Heaven has gained another sweet garden angel, I will miss her greatly.

I had the honor and pleasure of knowing Nancy as a friend. She was an amazing lady and her gardens were always georgeous. It was always so relaxing to just sit and visit with her in her backyard. The "heavenly gardens" have now been enriched with a beautiful lady!

Enjoyed your mother immensely. I invited her to the last three teas I held at the Merrillville florist and tea room in December and January…each time Nancy had to cancel. We both decided that we would do it, just the two of us. I will always remember how she was so looking forward to it. My deepest condolences to you, her family!

Wendy - I'm heartbroken for you, your dad and John. Such a beautiful smile. So many Jr. High and HS memories of your mom always being around. I recall so many sleepovers and waking to your mom cleaning the house, daily. This was foreign to me.. (we cleaned but your mom was on another level) and I'll never forget her liking to shiop, your pool in the backyard and her planting flowers. She was a great person and always so nice to me. God bless you Nancy Ryder. Love you Wendy.
