Mr. Sunny was my economics teacher at Highland High School. He was an amazing teacher. He made learning fun. I loved his class. He would joke around with us. I will always remember the couple of times when I got called out for talking. He had some kind of a skinny type of bat that he smacked the top of my desk with. Mr. Sunny and his family will be in my prayers always.

Mr Sunny, taught Day-to-Day Economics, not how to buy stocks & bonds, but how to manage your daily life, managing checkbooks, buying auto and life insurance and many other things.  There were current events and simulation games.  Class of 1977

Mr. Sunny was my favorite teacher, he gave me a love for US history and taught me more than any other teacher that I can remember. I’ll never forget the big stick he had that he used to smack on a desk next to somebody who fell asleep in class. It was hysterical. He will be greatly missed and we will see each other and eternity.

I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Sunny. He truly was one of my favorite teachers! He really seemed to love teaching and cared about his students. He graduated high school with my mom and dad, Jim and Sylvia O'Donnell. He gave my dad a John Wayne belt buckle at one of the class reunion gatherings to give me, because I was a big John Wayne fan. He will truly be missed. Sending prayers and hugs to you and your family.

My condolences to Mr Sunny’s family. I was lucky enough to experience him as a teacher at Highland in ‘87, he made a boring subject enjoyable...one of my favorite teachers during high school. Rest In Peace Mr Sunny.

Jessica Kish left a message on April 9, 2021:
I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Sunny's passing. Some of the most important lessons I learned in life were in my senior Econ class. I use the lessons of supply and demand in my daily life as a realtor. I learned quickly that his bark was way worse than his bite and that bribing him with a cold Dr. Pepper worked every time! Sending love to his wife and family.
