Michael C. Markiewicz age 58 of Hammond passed away Tuesday May 5 2009. He is survived by his parents Joseph and Elfriede Markiewicz three sisters: Monica (Marc) Blevens of Pennsylvania Karen (Brian) Crane of California Marsha (Nick) Winfield of Nevada two uncles: Bishop Carl Mengeling of Michigan William Mengeling of Michigan one aunt Carolyn (Milan) Tomich of Schererville nieces and nephew. Michael was an ironworker with Local #395 Hammond with 40 years of service. He was a graduate of Lake Central High School. Friends may call at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 11301 W. 93rd Ave. St. John on Thursday May 7 2009 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday May 8 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Bishop Carl Mengeling officiating. At rest St. Michael Cemetery Schererville. In lieu of flowers Masses are preferred. Funeral arrangements by Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service Merrillville.
