Michael Barker, age 64 of Portage; formerly of Chicago, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020.
He is survived by wife of 45 years, Kathy; three daughters: Brenda (Daniel) Rolland, Susan Barker, Cindy (Michael) Daraska, and his special niece Dina (Bill) Lowe; 12 grandchildren: Frank, KoriBeth, Jacob, Sean, Emily, Kayla, Logan, Layla, Melissa, Michael (Annie), Kyle, and Karolyn; five great-grandchildren: Jeremaih, Rylie, Reece, Evelyn, and Jayden; two sisters, Jean Schmik and Mary Lou Burdick; one brother, Phillip Barker; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Henry & Mary Barker and his sister Peggy Hunt.
Michael was a longtime resident of Bridgeport, Illinois. He was a laborer for Leedal Industries and worked as a caterer for Falco’s Pizza. Michael loved animals, especially his two dogs, Bob and Jeffrey. He enjoyed volunteering at the Bonner Senior Center. His hobbies were camping, fishing, and going on road trips. He was a member of American Legion Post# 260. Michael loved to help people any way he could. He will be dearly missed.
Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 2700 Willowcreek Rd., Portage on Sunday, March 8, 2020 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Ken officiating. Services to conclude at chapel with cremation to follow.
