MICHAEL OROS, age 94 of Merrillville, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017.

Survived by three children: Karen Beaty, Michele (Randy) Franks, Debbie (Dave) Leonard; three grandchildren: Jennifer (Ian) Rausei, Laura Franks, and Erin Franks; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by wife, Betty (nee Warrick) Oros; three brothers: Frank George, John Orosz, and George Oros; three sisters: Estelle St. Mary, Ann Jury, and Mary Oros.

Michael was a member and usher at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Merrillville. He was a member of American Legion Post 485 and Knights of Columbus, Msgr. Ryder Council #4047. Michael was a graduate of Froebel High School, and was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a retired Detective from the Gary Police Department and was a loan officer from Gainer Bank.

Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm. Prayer service at 3:30 pm. K of C Rosary at 6:30 pm. Funeral service will be 10:00 am. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 DIRECTLY from SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 5885 Harrison St., Merrillville with Rev. Jon Plavcan officiating. Cremation to follow services. There will be one half-hour of visitation at church prior to services. Michael will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery.
