Mary Margaret Bodak

Mary Margaret Bodak (nee Plafcan) age 88 of Crown Point formerly of Merrillville passed away on Saturday March 17 2007. Mary was preceded in death by her parents John and Marie Plafcan husband Alexander Bodak brother John S. Plafcan sisters: Sister Cyrillus and Sue (Frank) Murawski brothers and sisters-in-law: John (Mary) Bodak Joe (Anne Bodak) Martin Julia (Bodak) Duggan Steve Bodak. She is survived by her loving family: daughters Veronica Bodak and Elizabeth Tonkovich and son Alex Bodak III all of Crown Point two grand children Carrie Bodak and Casey (Amber) Bodak great grandchildren Jade and Corrine. She is also survived by two brothers Cyril (Helen) Plafcan and George (Sue) Plafcan two sisters Frances Plafcan and Sister Dorothy Anne all of Slovak Arkansas sister-in-law Mary (late Robert) Lazorik and brothers-in-law Vasil ChuckBodak and Gerald Duggan as well as many nieces nephews cousins neighbors and friends. Mary was an active member of St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Church having served in the Altar and Rosary Society the Ladies Guild as well as the Friday Perogi and Fish Frys. She loved cooking baking and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Everyone knew her as a kind gentle loving and compassionate person. Friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service 6360 Broadway Merrillville on Tuesday from 2-8 P.M. with a rosary service at 2:30 P.M. and a prayer service at 4:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 21 2007 at 9:30 A.M. from the Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 A.M. from St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Church (557 West 57th Ave. Merrillville) with Rev. Michael Evanick officiating. Mary will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Schererville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Nicholas Apostolate of St. Michael Church of Merrillville or the St. Anthony Hospice of Crown Point.
