Mary A. Brown, age 68, of Michigan City, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at St. Anthony Memorial Health Care Center, Michigan City.
Services will be held Saturday, March 14 at 10:30 a.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Rumley officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 13 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte. Ms. Brown was born January 30, 1941 in Michigan City to Wilbur and Helen (Shipton) Brown, both of whom preceded her in death. Surviving are son William “Bill” (Dawn) Brown, and daughters Debbie Combs, Tammy Brown and Robin Kloss, all of Michigan City, grandchildren Jennifer, Scott, James, Stephanie, Ryan and Kim; great grandchildren Cameron, Savannah, Karly and Lorelai, sisters Zella (Richard) Hall, Canton, TX, Linda Parker, Violet (Richard) Smith, Virginia “Jane” Brown and Barbara Brown, all of Michigan City, and Francis (Richard) Saxon of Lafayette, CO and with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Roland and Daniel, granddaughter Crystal Marie Brown and several nieces and nephews.
Mary had been employed as a tester at Gateway for 15 yrs and formerly employed at Alco Electronics.
She was a member of Countryside Church and Evergreen Baptist Church. Mary was a loving, kind and giving lady with a heart full of compassion. She fought a courageous battle against her illness and now she is in her heavenly home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Social Learning Institute.
