Maria Rosa Del Real, age 59, of Michigan City, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009 at St. Anthony Memorial Health Care. Services will be held Friday, Jan. 16 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Stanislaus Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home. She was born Oct. 16, 1949 in Ocotlan, Jalisco, Mexico to Ignacio and Maria (De Luz Gonzalez) Rodriguez, both of whom preceded her in death, her mother survives. On Feb. 16, 1977 in Guadalajara, Mexico she married Ramon Del Real, he survives in Michigan City. Also surviving are daughter Rosa Geovana Del Real of Michigan City, sons Hector Del Real of Guadalajara and Edwardo (Crystal) Gonzalez of Michigan City, grandchildren Jesse, Julien, Destiny, Hector II, Thalya and Alex, and 8 brothers and sisters. Mrs. Del Real was a homemaker. She immigrated to the United States from Mexico at age 50. She was a loving, devoted, selfless and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a devout member of St. Stanislaus Church. Maria kept strong hold of her faith throughout her life. She was a strong willed woman and fought a strong battle with diabetes.
