MARGARET PEGGYOSIKA (NEE HARLOCK) age 86 of Griffith passed away peacefully on Friday May 14 2010. Born in Peterborough England on March 2 1924 to parents Thomas and Laura May Harlock both deceased. She was a loving mother grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by 11 children: Dion (Teri) Osika of Los Angeles CA Judy Osika of Griffith Linda and Deborah Osika of Hobart Susan Nowlin of Griffith Patrick (Diana) Osika of Flint MI Elizabeth (Gary) Sovich of Las Vegas NV David Osika of Merrillville Cynthia Osika of Michigan City Anthony (Christina) Osika of Crown Point and Laura (Allen) Jinkerson of Portage sister: Laura Galley of Peterborough England 22 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Walter. She was a member of Divine Providence Polish National Catholic Church. Friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service 6360 Broadway Merrillville Tuesday May 18 2010 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service Wednesday May 19 2010 at 10:00 a.m. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:30 a.m. from Divine Providence Polish National Catholic Church (269 W. 57th Avenue) with Rev. Edward Meus officiating. At rest Calumet Park Merrillville. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in Mrs. Osikas name to the Divine Providence Polish National Catholic Church Maintenance Fund.

Thanks to all of you for sharing your memories of Mom. She was certainly unique and she really missed the old neighborhood.

Grandma Osika was the most fun loving and charismatic person we have ever met. She was a kind soul with an amazing sense of humor that could brighten any situation. We will always cherish the time spent with grandma whether it be watching vintage game shows or just getting to know her better. She will be missed dearly by all.

I know only too well how painful the passing of a mother can be. It is hard to imagine life without a mother after you have been a caretaker for so long. She is in Gods arms now and with your Dad. Take comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering and at peace.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. She was a wonderful and special person. She will truly be missed. The last time I saw Mrs. Osika was when I was visiting my family and I think David had brought her back over to the old neighborhood to visit the neighbors and she still had her same smile and loving personality.
